This weekend I’ll be going on a spiritual retreat. One of my good friends has sponsored me to participate in a Walk to Emmaus.
I would very much appreciate your prayers as I head out. I don’t know what God has for me in this weekend but I would like to be able to receive all that he intends for me to be given. And I want to experience Christ in whatever way he would like.
Actually, I’d kind of like to experience God in the way(s) that I prefer. I’d often rather give what I want to give and receive what I want to receive. But that’s part of the problem – and part of why I’m asking for your prayer. My preference is really pretty irrelevant in the face of Christ. And, truth be told, I don’t know nearly as well as God what I need and what will truly satisfy and fulfill his purposes.
I went on the Chryslis walk in high school. Leave any time telling device you might have at home, or at least in the car. Do not take your Ipod, either. Unless things have changes, I think they want you to leave any and every distraction at home during the weekend. God certainly does not need the help to be heard. However, haiving distractions removed, does help you hear better. Don’t worry about the time either, it will just be a distraction.
Enjoy the rest.
