Communication
Communication sent to me via email, Twitter direct message, or other private means is kept private. Your email address, name, or other personally identifying information is not released to third parties. Security for email is provided by Google’s Gmail.
Communication sent to me via blog comments, Twitter “@ replies”, or other public means may be used or quoted and may link back to the source of the communication and may contain your public contact information such as profile page URL but will not contain private contact information.
If you leave a comment on my blog or refer to it using a public communication tool such as Twitter, I may contact you directly via either private or public communication means, using information provided by you. This is simply because I am interested in connecting with you. I don’t have anything to sell you and will not try to track you down.
I use Disqus.com as a commenting system. Please refer to their privacy policy if you have questions regarding the privacy and security of your information on their system.
Site Usage
I use Google Analytics, Wordpress.com Stats, PostRank, and Lijit Search to gauge interest and to identify traffic trends such as entrance paths, search terms, and page usage. Those services will track and report on things such as search terms, page hits, IP address, city, state, and country but do not track personally identifying information such as email address.
Toolbar
I use a toolbar supplied by Wibiya. This toolbar adds value by allowing you to search recent posts, search my blog, see notifications from me, translate pages, share links, view photos, subscribe to my blog using RSS, as well as connect and comment using Facebook, Twitter, and tinychat. This toolbar tracks pageviews, subscriptions, etc. If you publish comments or links using this toolbar, you are allowing it to post your comments and/or links using the services you have selected.
Sharing
In addition to Wibiya, I use ShareThis to allow you to share links and comments about my blog on other services. Please familiarize yourself with their Privacy Policy if you have any concerns about your private information. Be aware that if you share links or comments using Share this , you are allowing it to post your comments and/or links using the services you have selected.
