I’ve heard there was a secret chord
that David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music, Do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor Fall, The major lift,
The baffled king composing, hallelujah

HallelujahLeonard Cohen

Here’s the deal – there’s no “secret chord” to please the Lord. There’s no way that anything we do of ourselves can please him. Rather, a heart turned towards him and submitted to Jesus of Nazareth pleases him.

And talk about a “major lift”! God, the creator of all, has made a way for us to be restored to fellowship with him. How cool is that?

John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
